Utilization of a supported browser is important for Internet based software applications. Security is the primary consideration as the data traveling across the Internet must be encrypted to prevent hacking or theft.
Microsoft IE 11 and Edge
As of January 12, 2016 Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer browser 7, 8, 9 & 10.
Microsoft now supports IE 11 and the Edge browser (running under Windows 10).
The Alveo Portal application has been designed to run on IE 9, 10, 11 and Edge. This has been done to allow time for migration to a newer operating system for our customers. At some point in the future, yet to be determined, Alveo will move to support only IE 11 and Edge. All customers will receive three months’ notice before this occurs.
The Alveo Portal application runs on the most current major version of Google’s Chrome browser. Support for Chrome is planned to continue into the foreseeable future.
Safari and Firefox
While both Safari and Firefox are good browsers the Alveo Portal is not tested for full operations on these platforms. It is possible the site may run on these browsers successfully, but Alveo does not ensure these have been fully tested and are secure to run data protected under HIPPA.
